Sharpsburg Man Charged with Possessing Prescription Pills Waives Hearing

A 29-year-old Sharpsburg man facing drug charges waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday when he appeared before Magisterial District Judge Suzanne Blaschak.

Karl William Boscia III was arrested in May at the in Richland Township and charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of 16 prescription pills and drug paraphernalia.

The pills were 7 Clonazepam; 4 Acetaminophen/Hydrocodone; 3 Morphine and 2 Gabapentin, the criminal complaint states.

were called to the GetGo on Grandview Drive about 9:30 p.m. May 31 for a "possible intoxicated male" who was pumping gas, according to the criminal complaint.

When Officer Jeffrey Jones arrived, Boscia was cleaning the outside of his windshield, the complaint states.

"While speaking with Boscia, I noticed that his face was flush and his eyes were extremely watery. Boscia was also speaking very fast as he told me he only had one beer earlier today," Jones stated in the criminal complaint.

"I also detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside Boscia's vehicle. Boscia stated that he had a glass pipe and some marijuana inside his black backpack, which was sitting on the passenger seat," according to the complaint.

The backpack contained a glass pipe with marijuana residue in it, a small amount of marijuana in a glass jar, a scale and two small round metal cases with 16 prescription pills in them, court documents showed.
