Richland Traffic Blotter: Woman Hospitalized after Crash on Route 910; Other Collisions Reported

Bairdford Woman Suffers Cracked Ribs, Concussion from Crash

A Bairdford woman was hospitalized Dec. 27 after her automobile collided with a vehicle that turned in front of her on Route 910 in Richland Township, according to a report.

Mary Fosnaught, 52, was transported to Allegheny General Hospital by . When an officer spoke to her a few days later, Fosnaught said she had several cracked ribs and a concussion as a result of the crash, the report stated.

She was driving her 1996 Mercury Sable east on Route 910 at about 10:30 p.m. when a 2009 Nissan Sentra traveling in the opposite direction turned left in front of her toward Turner Road, said police.

Kristie Milcic, 20, of Cheswick, told police she never saw the other car until the collision, the report said. Milcic was wearing a seat belt and declined medical transport, said police.

Witnesses who were stopped at the red light at the intersection told police the Nissan cut the turn short in an attempt to turn onto Turner Road before Fosnaught's car passed, according to the police report.

Both vehicles were towed by  of Bakerstown.

 

Jeep Liberty Runs into Back of Audi on Route 8

A 2005 Jeep Liberty skidded about 40 feet before it ran into the back of a vehicle that was stopped to make a left turn on Route 8 in Richland Township, said police.

The Dec. 20 accident occurred at about 6 p.m. in the area between Heckert Road and Willow Creek Road, police said.

The Jeep was driven by Alison Dobies, 35, of Arnold, the police report stated.

Daniel Lippke, 32, of Tarentum, said he stopped his 2005 Audi S4 in the left southbound lane of Route 8, waiting to make a left turn when he was struck from behind, police said.

 of Gibsonia towed both vehicles, which had major damage to their bumpers, the police report said.

 

Trailblazer Crashes on Icy Turnpike Overpass 

A 22-year-old Pittsburgh man lost control of his 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer on Dec. 17 while traveling on a turnpike overpass in Richland Township that was covered in ice, said Northern Regional police.

Dennis Gapsky III, 22, was traveling west on Route 910/Gibsonia Road near the intersection of North Montour Road at about 5:15 p.m. when he struck the side of the bridge and sustained moderate damage to the front end of his vehicle, police said.

 

Deer Killed, Suzuki Towed after Collision on Route 910

A 2004 Suzuki Forenza was towed Dec. 16 after hitting a deer on Route 910/Gibsonia Road in Richland Township, police said.

Samantha Demas, 19, of Gibsonia, said the deer ran in front of her at about 6:45 a.m. in the 4000 block of Gibsonia Road, said Northern Regional police.

Tom Henry Chevrolet of Bakerstown towed the Suzuki, which sustained damage to its front grill, hood and bumper. It also was also leaking fluid, the police report said.

PennDOT was notified to remove the deer carcass from the road.

 

Vehicles Collide at Intersection of Route 910 and Community Center Drive

Two vehicles were towed Dec. 15 after they collided at the intersection of Route 910/Gibsonia Road and Community Center Drive in Richland Township, said police.

A 2007 Honda Accord driven by Jean F. Rollings, 77, of Valencia, pulled out from Community Center Drive in front of a 2009 Nissan Rogue that was heading east on Gibsonia Road at about 11:45 a.m., police said.

The Nissan was driven by Karen M. Sestric-Colpo, 59, of Gibsonia, the police report stated.

Both vehicles were towed by Rudolph Auto Repair of Gibsonia.

 

Chevrolet Rolls onto Side and Slides into Back of Mazda

A 2002 Chevrolet Malibu ran off the right side of a Richland Township road on Dec. 14, up an embankment, onto its side and then slid into the rear of another vehicle while still on its side, according to a Northern Regional Police Department report.

Nicholas J. Emanuele, 26, of McKees Rock, told police he was going into a curve on Turner Road near the intersection with Route 910/Gibsonia Road when his brakes locked and he lost control of the vehicle at about 6:15 p.m., the report said.

He slid into a 2010 Mazda CX7 driven by Michelle L. Sipple, 43, of Gibsonia, said police.

 responded, but no one was transported to a hospital.

The Malibu was towed by Rudolph Auto Repair of Gibsonia.
