Collision in Front of 7-Eleven on Route 8
Two vehicles collided in front of the 7-Eleven on Route 8 in Richland Township about 9 p.m. on Dec. 7, a Northern Regional police report stated.
The collision occured as Michael Spreng, 28, of Valencia was trying to pull his 1999 Saturn SL1 out of the 7-Eleven parking lot, police said.
Spreng told police that he thought a 2001 Nissan Altima driven by Jacob E. Pelczarski, 21, of Tarentum was pulling into the parking lot, the police report said.
Instead, Pelczarski had his right-turn signal on as he moved from the passing lane to the curb lane on Route 8, just past the intersection with Route 910, said police.
The Nissan hit the front left corner of the Saturn as it began to pull onto the highway, police said.
No injuries were reported, but both vehicles were towed by .
Chevrolet Runs Into Back of Another Vehicle Stopped at Red Light
A 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 19-year-old Cody Lusebrink of Irwin ran into the back of another vehicle that was stopped for a red light about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at the intersection of Routes 8 and 910, according to a Northern Regional police report.
Lusebrink was traveling north on Route 8 when he switched lanes to avoid a stopped vehicle and collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Impala driven by Jodi Pugh, 36, of Butler, police said.
The collision caused very light damage, according to the police report.
Vehicles Hit Guardrails in Northtowne Square
Within minutes, two vehicles traveling on wet roads about 3 p.m. Dec. 5 slid into guardrails in Northtowne Square in Richland Township, police said.
Christopher Mubel, 29, of Gibsonia, was the first to hit a guardrail as he traveled north on Northtowne Square Drive and slid as he rounded a bend on the wet road, causing minor damage to his 2008 Toyota Corolla, police said. No damage was apparent to the guardrail and no injuries were reported.
A few minutes later, 37-year-old Meredith Olszewski of Butler slid into a guardrail as she came around a left curve in the parking lot's Route 910 entrance, the police report said.
Olszewski did not want to drive her 1996 Honda Accord, which had damage to the front passenger side and tire, and called for a private tow, the report said.
Deer Killed, Nissan Towed After The Two Collide
A 2002 Nissan XTerra was towed after it collided about 7:15 p.m. Dec. 5 with a buck that jumped in front of it on Route 8, police said.
Michele Wilson, 46, of Butler was traveling north on Route 8 between Glasgow Road and the Butler County line when the deer jumped over the guardrail on her right and into the path of her Nissan, according to police.
“The driver ... said that she had no time to avoid the collision and struck the deer with the front of her vehicle,” the police report states.
The Nissan was towed by Mike’s Towing because of major damage to the front end, which was covered with deer hair, said police.
Police found a dead deer about 50 yards south of the Nissan and PennDOT was notified so it could remove it, the report said.
The driver was not injured.
