Richland Man Faces Drug Charges After Traffic Stop in Whitehall

Paul Howard Schuetz is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 29-year-old Richland Township man faces drug charges after a traffic stop in  on Monday morning.

Paul Howard Schuetz was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a  police officer monitoring traffic in the 5300 block of Spring Valley Drive stopped Schuetz's vehicle for speeding,  Chief Donald R. Dolfi said.

Schuetz appeared nervous and fidgety as the officer interacted with him, Dolfi said.

The officer then noticed an orange needle cap beneath Schuetz's seat, which he reported that Schuetz was trying to conceal, police said.

The officer had a K-9 unit available and used the dog to search for and locate heroin and drug paraphernalia in Schuetz's vehicle, according to police.
