Residents Report Daytime Burglaries in Orchard Park Neighborhood of Richland

Residents are reminded to be vigilant about locking doors, windows and cars.

Northern Regional Police are investigating two recent burglaries in the Orchard Park neighborhood in Richland Township.

In one burglary, the intruder entered through an unlocked door and stole a gift certificate, Northern Regional Police Chief T. Robert Amann said.

Nothing was taken in the second burglary; the intruder entered by forcing their way in through a window in an area of the house under construction, Amann said.

The chief gave few details because the incidents are under investigation, but he did note the burlaries occurred five to six days apart.

He encourages the public to contact Northern Regional Police Department at 724-625-3157 if they see anything unusual in the neighborhood - suspicious persons or vehicles.

The Orchard Park Neighborhood Association sent an email to residents Thursday evening that reminds residents to do the following:

  • Lock your cars and don't leave valuables in the car overnight.
  • Keep an eye out for your neighbors.
  • Be on the lookout for anything or anyone that looks suspicious or out of place.
  • If you see anything unusual, call 911 immediately.
