Pittsburgh Police Commander in Serious Condition After Traffic Accident

Robinson police identify van driver involved in accident that injured Cmdr. Linda Rosato-Barone.

A Pittsburgh police commander injured in a head-on collision in Robinson Township is in serious condition Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital after successful surgery Friday night, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Linda Rosato-Barone, 54, suffered a fractured femur, pelvis and ribs in the 3 p.m. Friday collision on Steubenville Pike, the Post-Gazette reports.

Robinson police identified the driver of the minivan that crossed the center line and ran into the commander's unmarked police vehicle as Barbara Ann Loniero, 45, of North Fayette, who is in stable condition at AGH, according to the Post-Gazette.
