Rear-End Collision at Route 19-Wallace Road Intersection

Michael Ross Jr., 21, of Verona, ran into the back of a BMW that was stopped at a red traffic signal on Wallace Road at the intersection with Route 19 on Dec. 6, police said.

Ross was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer about 2:30 p.m. when his vehicle caused light damage to the 2011 BMW that 36-year-old Robert Niedermeyer Jr., of Wexford, was driving, police said.

Another Rear-End Collision at Route 19 and Wallace Road Extension

A 2006 Hyundai Elantra that Charles Seminatore, 49, of Pittsburgh was driving ran into the back of a vehicle stopped at 6 a.m. Dec. 2 at the intersection of Route 19 and Wallace Road Extension, police said.

Barbera Francois, 58, of Seven Fields was driving the stopped vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

16-Year-Old Hits Road Signs and Drives Home

A 16-year-old Wexford girl's vehicle hit road signs on Warrendale Road about 3 p.m. Dec. 1, and then she drove home, according to a police report.

A passing motorist gave police the license plate number of the 2000 Ford Taurus that hit a PennDOT construction sign for the Graham Road detour and two smaller state road segment marker signs for SR 4068 and SR 4063, the report said.

When police checked the home address, the girl admitted to being the driver and said she was unaware she was required to remain on the scene when involved in an accident that results in property damage, according to the report.

“Based on the scene and roadway markings, it appeared as if [the vehicle] began to drift over the double yellow line of Warrendale Road, putting the vehicle partially in the oncoming lane of traffic,” the report said.

The driver apparently overcompensated and drove onto the westbound shoulder of Warrendale Road then began to slide on the grass, at which point the driver-side door hit the PennDOT construction sign and the two signs, said police.

Collision at Pine Giant Eagle Parking Lot

Two vehicles collided as one pulled out of the Giant Eagle parking lot in Pine Township about 6 p.m. Dec. 1, according to a police report.

Walter Kampu, 53, of Wexford, was attempting to make a left turn to travel south on Village Run Road when he collided with a 2009 Honda Civic, said police.

Siu Chan, 45, of Mars was already traveling south on Village Run Road when Kampu pulled his 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe from the parking lot without proper clearance, causing an angle impact, the police report said.

Both drivers refused medical attention, but Chan stated she was experiencing some neck stiffness, police said.

Both vehicles displayed moderate damage but were driven away.
