Police Looking for Information After Pine-Richland Student Reports Possible Child-Luring Attempt

Northern Regional police are asking for the public's help in obtaining more information after a possible child-luring attempt Monday in Richland Township.

Police and the Pine-Richland School District issued an alert to parents Monday evening after a student reported the incident to them.

According to an alert on the district’s website, the 17-year-old female student was getting off the bus at about 3 p.m. near her stop at Grandview Drive and Oakhill Drive when a male driver stopped his vehicle and offered her a ride, telling her “It is cold out there.”

The girl refused the ride after the driver asked her the same question three times, the district statement said.

The car's description:

• Four-door, dark/navy blue (almost black with a faded hood) older model car  

The driver's description:

• Clean-cut, white male between age 20 and 30, with dark eyes and spiked dark hair

The vehicle continued on Grandview Drive into the Grandview Estates housing plan in Richland, according to the district.
