In the most recent burglary on McAleer Road near Mt. Nebo Road, police said a family returning from vacation found thousands of dollars of jewelry missing.

"For anyone it's traumatic when their home is broken into," Franklin Park Police Chief Don Dorsch told WPXI-TV. "They're getting in quickly by forcibly entering the homes. They're going after mainly jewelry."

Dorsch said the break-ins are all random and have all occurred not far from the interstate.

"They're taking personal items, sometime heirlooms, a thing that can't be replaced, that's the tragedy," Dorsch told WPXI.
