Hearing Delayed for 19-Year-Old Gibsonia Man Charged With Statutory Sexual Assault

A preliminary hearing was postponed Wednesday for a 19-year-old Gibsonia man charged with the statutory sexual assault of a minor he met on Facebook.

Paul Robert Wolverton was charged in late March after the 15-year-old girl told her mother that Wolverton picked her up early from school, took her to his Treesdale home where they engaged in sex, and then returned her to school, according to a criminal complaint filed by .

The girl, who is not named in the criminal complaint, told police she met Wolverton on Facebook about a month prior and had communicated with him via Facebook, cell phone and text messages, the complaint states.

Wolverton also is charged with felony counts of corruption of a minor, criminal use of a communication facility and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

His hearing before Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner is now scheduled for May 9.
