Grand Jury: Wexford Car Salesman Stole Trucks, Sold Them to Suspected Drug Dealers

A salesman at Schults Ford, located at 10401 Perry Highway in Wexford, is charged with stealing trucks from the dealership and selling them for $7,500 apiece to suspected drug dealers.

The office of Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane announced the charges Tuesday against Perry Brown, 52, of Natrona Heights.

According to a statewide grand jury, agents conducting an investigation of drug trafficking rings in western Pennsylvania noticed a number of drug suspects all driving vehicles from the same Ford dealership, Schults, in Wexford.

The grand jury also charges Brown with selling stolen Pennsylvania state inspection stickers. 

Brown is accused of offering to sell undercover agents a set of 30 stickers, each set good for one year, for $1,200.

Last summer, the attorney general's office said undercover agents arranged to buy a new $41,000 truck from Brown for $7,500, the AG said.

After the deal was made, Brown agreed to sell two more trucks, and he was taken into custody when he arrived to deliver the vehicles.

During a search of Brown's home, the Attorney General's office said agents found 250 state inspection stickers and 200 emission stickers, as well as a certificate of authenticity for a diamond ring that had been reported from a safe inside Shults Ford.

Brown has been charged with receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking and criminal use of a communication facility. He has a preliminary hearing on July 10.
