Garbowsky Ordered to Pay Restitution to Walmart

Westmoreland man faces multiple charges in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties.

A 19-year-old man charged with stealing from Walmart, Target and Kohl's in Richland Township was ordered Friday to pay restitution to Walmart and court fines for two February thefts.

-- whose addresses are listed in court documents as Gibsonia, Jeannette and Irwin -- pleaded guilty to summary offenses and was ordered to pay $144 to Walmart plus $490 in fines by Magisterial District Judge Regis Welsh Jr.

Garbowsky faces a long list of charges in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties in connection with thefts and church break-ins, according to court documents.

In a private criminal complaint, Walmart accused Garbowsky of stealing a Band of Brothers DVD, Dante's Inferno and WWE video games, valued at $95, on Feb. 20.

In a second complaint, Walmart accused Garbowsky of stealing an iPod car adapter valued at $49 on Feb. 27.

He pleaded guilty in July to retail theft from Kohl's in Richland Township, according to court documents.

on charges of stealing $1,600 in gift cards from Target, where he was employed.

He was ordered to stand trial June 1 by Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner on multiple charges brought by McCandless Township Police Department. They include felony charges of burglary and misdemeanor charges of theft, receiving stolen property and institutional vandalism in a place of worship.

Earlier this year Garbowsky was arrested in Westmoreland County and charged in the "church burglar" cases that had hit that community.

He was ordered to stand trial in the Westmoreland County Court of Common Pleas on felony charges of burglary, criminal trespassing, conspiracy - burglary, and misdemeanor charges of institutional vandalism of a place or worship and criminal mischief.

Garbowsky also was ordered to stand trial on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol in Penn Township.
