Winter Weather Advisory in Effect Until 7 p.m.

As afternoon reports of accidents on icy roads in the North Hills come in, the evening commute promises to be a driver's challenge.

The National Weather Service's winter weather advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m.

"The combination of snow showers and blowing snow can still cause hazardous travel conditions through the evening," the weather service website states. "Nighttime conditions will add to the hazard impacts as increased traffic can cause ice to develop on untreated pavements beneath the packed-down snow."

A winter weather advisory for snow means periods of snow can cause travel difficulties, the weather service stated.

Motorists are advised to be prepared for snow-covered roads and limitied visibility.
