Trial Postponed for Doctor Accused of Inappropriately Touching Female Patients

Twenty-one women testified against Dr. Thomas Tyma in preliminary hearings.

, a Wexford rheumatologist charged with improperly touching 21 female patients, has been postponed until March 12.

Tyma has pleaded not guilty to charges of indecent assault and harassment. The trial originally was set for today.

The case will be tried in the courtroom of President Judge Donna Jo McDaniel in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

, McCandless and New Castle police departments filed the charges against the 54-year-old doctor, who lives in Sewickley. He previously practiced at Allegheny North Arthritis Center in Wexford. 

The women are not identified because they are alleged victims of sexual assault.
