Traffic Blotter: Vehicles Collide on Snowy, Icy Roads

Northern Regional Police Department provided the following information.

Chevy Slides on Icy Road, Hits Hill

A 54-year-old Valencia man ran into a hillside on Route 910 at about 7:40 a.m. March 9 when he lost control of his Chevy 1500 on the icy road, police report.

David Hay crossed over into the eastbound lane before hitting the hillside near in the 4000 block of Route 910 (Gibsonia Road) in Richland Township, said police.

Richard Hays, 52, of Wexford hit his brakes when he saw Hay in his lane and slid on the ice into the the Chevy's rear bumper, said police.

Rear-End Collision in Front of Gibsonia Post Office

Seth Cluckey, 25, of Gibsonia told police he ran into the back of another vehicle after his foot slipped off the brake at about 1 p.m March 7 on Route 910 near the entrance, according to a police report.

Cluckey ran into the back of a 2009 Dodge Journey driven by 38-year-old Michael Haider, of Pittsburgh. The Dodge Journey was stopped for a red light on Route 8, police said.

 

Ford Explorer Runs into Back of Dodge Neon on Route 910 

A 17-year-old girl told police she must have been traveling too fast as she rounded a bend on Route 910 and ran into the back of a Dodge Neon about 8:15 a.m. March 7, police said. 

The Neon driven by 52-year-old Brian Glass, of Gibsonia, was stopped on Route 910, waiting to make a left onto Hardt Road, said police.

Chevrolet Suburban Flips onto Driver's Side

A Chevrolet Suburban flipped onto its driver's side at about 10 a.m. March 5 after the driver lost control and hit a hillside as she traveled on Route 910 in Richland Township, said police.

Police identified the driver as Brenda Kubisa, 35, of Gibsonia.

Tom Henry Chevrolet winched the vehicle back onto the road, just east of 3467 Gibsonia Road (Route 910), police said. It had small dents and scratches all around it, but could be driven, according to the police report.

 

Teens' Vehicles Collide after Spinning on Snowy Road

Two teen drivers lost control of their vehicles and collided on snowy, slushy Warrendale Road near Conrad Drive at about 7 a.m. March 5, police said. 

First, a Saturn Ion driven by 18-year-old Jocelyn Mackey of Wexford went into a spin, said police.

The Chevrolet Blazer behind her spun out also after the 17-year-old driver hit his brakes, said police.

The Blazer's passenger side hit the Saturn's driver's side, but no injuries were reported, according to police.

 

Hyundai Slides into Rear of Ford Explorer on Snowy Road

A 55-year-old Mars woman told police she was braking to stop at the intersection of Mars and Warrendale roads in Pine Township when she lost control on the snow-covered road and slid into the back of a Ford Explorer, according to a police report.

Carla Werling's Hyundai Santa Fe slid into the back of the Ford driven by 58-year-old Donald Dorsch, of Renfrew, at 6:40 a.m. March 5, said police.
