Thunderstorms Moving Into Allegheny, Butler Counties

Special Weather Statement Issued at 1:11 p.m. Tuesday.

Strong thunderstorms will affect parts of Allegheny County—including Wexford, Sewickley, Moon, Franklin Park, Perrysville and Pittsburgh's North Side—as well as Cranberry Township in Butler County this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

It issued a Special Weather Statement at 1:11 p.m. warning of the storms in which wind gusts up to 50 mph and dime-size hail are possible, the service said.

"Heavy rain will pond water on roads and quickly fill ditches and small streams," The National Weather Service website states.
