More flash flooding was reported at Liberty Avenue and Sassafras as well as Oakland, Squirrel Hill and the East End area of Pittsburgh, the weather service's website stated.

Several cars were under water in Shadyside.

"Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely," the weather service warned. "Most flood deaths occur in automobiles."

A flash flood watch stayed in effect until 9 p.m. A watch means conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
