Ring in the new year with fellow Pittsburghers at Highmark's First Night Pittsburgh event.
The family-friendly event is produced by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and provides visitors the opportunity to ring in the new year while celebrating the arts—dance, music, theater, comedy, hands-on activities and more. Several of the city's theaters will be hosting a variety of performances.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with the Dollar Bank children's fireworks display and a performance by American Idol finalist—and Washington County native—Adam Brock at the Seventh Street-Penn Avenue stage.
For a full detailed event listing, visit www.firstnightpgh.org/fest_events.
For closed-door performances, you can purchase an all-access Highmark First Night Pittsburgh 2013 button, which costs $8 per person in advance or $10 the night of the festivities. Children aged 5 years and younger are admitted to performances free of charge. First Night buttons are available at participating Giant Eagle stores, the box office at Theater Square, online at www.firstnightpgh.org or by calling 412-456-6666.
Seat vouchers can be reserved and are available up to the night of the event and until capacity is reached. For the first time ever, the vouchers are available online and can be printed at home for convenience. With one admission button, an attendee can reserve one voucher for one performance of each attraction.
There will be general admission waiting lines for performances at all venues requiring vouchers. Patrons will be seated on a space-available and first-come first-served basis once voucher-holders have been accommodated.
