Northbound Route 28 Closed Tuesday, Thursday Nights

Stretch between 31st Street Bridge and 40th Street Bridge closed for water line to be replaced.

A stretch of Route 28 Northbound will be closed Tuesday and Thursday nights so crews can replace a 60-inch water line, according to a PennDOT announcement.

Pine-Richland commuters heading to the Penguins game on Wednesday, however, need not worry. The road will remain open that day.

Tuesday's and Thursday's closures will occur -- weather permitting -- between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the Route 28 stretch between the 31st Street Bridge and the 40th Street Bridge, PennDOT said. Signs will be posted to guide motorists.
