National Weather Service Issues Severe Thunderstorm Warning

Doppler Radar indicates a storm with damaging winds.

The National Weather Service in Moon Township issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 7:02 Saturday for western Allegheny County, southeastern Beaver County and southern Butler County and north central Washington County.

The warning is in effect until 7:45 p.m.

At 6:59 p.m. the service's Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph near Economy Boro and moving east at 40 mph.

At 7:17 p.m., NWS reports the storm is near Gibsonia, moving east at 45 mph.

Locations in the warning area include—but are not limited to—Wexford, Perrysville, Mars, Millvale, Sewickley, Oakdale, Moon, McDonald, Imperial, Florence, Economy Boro, Franklin Park, Cranberry, Bridgeville and McKees Rocks.
