Gibsonia Woman To Stand Trial After Accident That Started in Two Bit Tavern Parking Lot
Simple-assault charge dropped.
A Gibsonia woman was ordered to stand trial Wednesday on charges stemming from and ended when the car she was driving hit a tree, according to court and police records.
Beverly Ann Fitzgerald, 47, waived her right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge William Wagner.
She will be tried in Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on charges of driving without a license, careless driving, reckless endangerment, and an accident involving injury while not properly licensed. A charge of simple assault was dismissed.

Fitzgerald was charged in August after received the results of a blood test that showed a blood alcohol content of .041 percent, which is below the 0.08 percent limit for a DUI charge, the report said.
Drug test results were negative, according to police.

The chain of events started about 1:30 a.m. July 3 when Fitzgerald backed out of a parking space in front of the Two Bit Tavern on Route 8 and then hit the bumper of a parked car, police said.
She told police she panicked and hit the throttle instead of the brake, the police report said.
Fitzgerald hit a pedestrian, three vehicles and a guard rail before she drove over a steep embankment, crossed Heckert Road, drove into the woods and hit a tree, according to the report.
