Garbowsky To Stand Trial for Allegedly Stealing Gift Cards from Target

Jeannette resident is also accused in church burglary cases in Westmoreland County.

A Jeannette man was ordered Friday to stand trial on charges of stealing $1,600 in gift cards from Target.

The preliminary hearing for was waived Friday in magisterial district court. That sends the case to the Allegheny Court of Common Pleas. 

Garbowsky, who turned 19 on Sunday, was employed at the Target in Richland Township in late February when the thefts took place, according to a Northern Regional Police report.

He is in Westmoreland County Prison facing charges of burglarizing churches in that community and charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

On Monday he was ordered to stand trial May 9 in Westmoreland County Court of Common Pleas on DUI charges stemming from an August incident in Penn Township. 

Garbowsky was ordered Tuesday to stand trial on charges of burglary, criminal trespassing, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief/damaging property and vandalism in a place of worship. 

His preliminary hearings were waived Tuesday in four cases for incidents on Feb. 18, Feb. 19 and March 9 in Manor Borough and Penn Township. His formal arraignment is scheduled for May 18.
