UPDATE: Work Canceled on Routes 28 and 8 at Etna Interchange

Crews were scheduled to conduct repairs on the wall along the ramp from southbound Route 8 to northbound Route 28.

UPDATE: Work on Routes 28 and Route 8 - scheduled for Wednesday - has been canceled because of inclement weather, PennDOT announced Wednesday morning.

Commuters will face short-term restrictions on northbound Route 28 and the on-ramp from southbound Route 8 on Wednesday in the area of the Etna interchange, PennDOT District 11 announced.

Work will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as crews conduct repairs on the wall along the ramp from southbound Route 8 to northbound Route 28.

A left-lane closure will occur on northbound Route 28 at the ramp entrance. A left-shoulder closure will occur on the ramp.

The work is part of the $27.2 million Etna interchange Phase V project. The prime contractor is Mascaro Contracting of Pittsburgh.
