Christmas Trees: When Can I Put My Tree at the Curb for Pickup? How About Recycling?

Allegheny County also has a tree recycling program.

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree. It's time for you to hit the curb or recycling center.

Vogel Disposal will pick up holiday trees curbside from Pine-Richland residents. For those who want to recycle their trees, Allegheny County has a number of spots where you can drop them off.

Make sure they are free of ornaments, tinsel, stands and lights.

Pine Township:

Trees will be picked up the weeks of Jan. 7-11 and 14-18. Trees must be placed at the curb and can be no more than 6 feet in length and 4 feet across. Trees will not be picked up if they are placed in yard waste carts or plastic bags.

Richland Township:

Trees will be picked up from the curb during the month of January. They should be no greater than 5 feet long.

Allegheny County:

The Allegheny County Department of Parks is offering its Annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program. County residents can drop off their Christmas trees from now through Saturday, Jan. 19, at all nine regional parks.

The trees will be mulched and used in Allegheny County’s nine regional parks.
