Cheswick Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting Pine Teen
The two got to know each other through Facebook and email, police said.
A 25-year-old Cheswick man was arrested Friday and charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old Pine Township girl after getting to know her through Facebook, state police said.
Timothy J. Mahronich has been charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, statutory sexual assault and unlawful contact with a minor, state police said.
Police said they began investigating in February 2011 after learning the girl was assaulted on numerous occasions from December 2009 through January 2010. They said Mahronich visited her home several times and had sexual contact with her.

"In late November 2009, the victim and the accused developed a relationship via Facebook and Yahoo email," police said in a statement.
Magisterial District Judge Regis Welsh Jr. arraigned Mahronich. He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail on $25,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing is set for May 13.
