AT LAST: You Can Trick or Treat in Pine-Richland!

Saturday night is the official trick-or-treating time for the Pine-Richland community.

It's been a long time coming ... or so it seems to anyone who loves Halloween.

Finally, princesses, zombies, little pumpkins, ghosts and all kinds of costumed creatures may go door to door from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

The trick-or-treat hours were changed from Oct. 31 after weather forecasters warned that Hurricane Sandy's rain and winds could wreak havoc in western Pennsylvania.

Northern Regional Police Chief T. Robert Amann announced the change Monday morning after consulting with township managers.

The changed date also applies to Marshall Township and Bradford Woods, which are served by Northern Regional.

Although communities in the northeastern U.S. still are experiencing power outages and struggling with the aftermath of Sandy, the Pine-Richland community dodged a bullet.

The winds and rains came and went without causing major problems.
