UPDATE: Duquesne Light Customers Without Power Down to Less Than 100
After the numbers jumped from 350 to 650, Duquesne Light says less than 100 homes are in the dark. Penn Power reports electricity is completely restored in Cranberry, Pine and Adams townships.
UPDATE: As of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Duquesne Light is reporting there are less than 100 customers in the area without service.
Power has been restored to all homes in Pine Township. Earlier Tuesday there were 53 customers reporting power loss.
By 11 p.m., power should be restored to everyone, according to the power company.

Earlier Tuesday there were about 650 Duquesne Light customers without power as a result of the strong winds and rain from Superstorm Sandy that swept through western Pennsylvania Monday.
The numbers dipped to 350 before jumping back up to 650 customers Tuesday morning. Duquesne Light crews spent the day restoring power by removing trees and repairing downed wires. Company spokesman Brian Knavish has said the outages are scattered throughout Allegheny and Beaver counties.

Duquesne Light also warns that downed wires are a safety hazard and should be avoided because of the risk of electrical shock and injury.
Locally, an outage map shows that no homes in Cranberry, Adams or Marshall townships are without power. Earlier Tuesday, there were a handful of homes in these areas with no electricity.
