Small Business Saturday is Time to Support Pine-Richland Businesses

Shopping at locally owned stores helps boost the Pine-Richland area's economy.

Thanksgiving is over. Black Friday is a memory. Now it's time for Small Business Saturday—a day to support small businesses in the community.

American Express founded the day in 2010 to help small businesses get exposure during the holiday season. Shopping on Small Business Saturday is the perfect way to give back to the businesses you know and love in the Pine-Richland community.

Pine-Richland Patch encourages its readers to shop locally on Small Business Saturday. In fact, we asked local businesses to tell us what they are doing on Small Business Saturday.

Here is what they told us.

Wexford General Store Antiques—"We will accept American Express and encourage our customers to sign up for the $25 credit with them, we also have 15 percent off everything in our store. We are antiques, uniques, collectibles, great Christmas ideas. Open Mon-Sat 10-5 Sunday 12-5." (Posted on Pine-Richland Patch's Facebook page.)

Sincerely Yogurt Wexford—"We will be giving out coupons on 'Small Business Saturday' to be used the next time our guest stops in. They can be redeemed for either a free kid's cone or $1 off any purchase. Our way of saying thanks for supporting us!" (Posted on Pine-Richland Patch's Facebook page.)

Zenewicz Notary Service posted this on Facebook: "We have Black Friday coming up but more importantly we have Small Business Saturday. As a Small Business owner this day is an important one ~ in the wake of all the financial problems bestowed upon our country you can always take comfort in the small business striving to help when needed, of course we can't contribute like the large corporations but we do our bit on a smaller scale but with a Bigger Heart. So join us on Saturday, November 24th to support the small business in your area. We can make a difference in so many ways. Let's keep our small businesses in business. Happy Thanksgiving."
