New, One-Stop, Heart and Vascular Institute Opening at UPMC Passavant

The new unit consolidates a number of cardiovascular services into one location.

On May 6, UPMC will open a new, heart and vascular institute at UPMC Passavant in McCandless.

The 8,000 square foot medical practice on the first floor of the hospital, on the same side as the medical office buildings, is designed to "provide patients with the best experience possible by consolidating services into one location," said UPMC media relations manager Rick Pietzak.

Patients will have access to a wide array of cardiovascular testing that includes stress tests, nuclear scans, echocardiography, vascular studies and electrophysiology procedures for treatment of rhythm disturbances.
