Need to Shred a Mountain of Paperwork? Here's a Freebie Opportunity at St. Barnabas
Area residents are invited to bring their old financial statements, canceled checks, receipts and other documents to be shredded at no charge.

St. Barnabas Charities is holding a free shredding event from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, at , 5850 Meridian Road, Gibsonia/Richland Township.

Iron Mountain, a worldwide company specializing in document destruction, will be on-site with a 50,000-pound-capacity mobile shredding unit.

The shredding service is performed by Iron Mountain’s trained specialists who have been cleared through a background check and who have passed safety and security screenings.
Through a camera mounted inside the truck, individuals will be able to view their documents being shredded. The shredder can accommodate paper clips and staples. Plastic bags, metal prong fasteners, plastic report covers and telephone books are not to be sent through the shredder.

“As an independent financial planner, I work with people every day who are overwhelmed by the amount of confidential paperwork they’ve acquired over the years and are concerned about how to safely dispose of it,” says Victor Conrad, founder of PINNACLE Financial Strategies.
“The free shredding day is a great opportunity for people to clear off their desks and clean out their filing cabinets and start over again. I’m pleased to help St. Barnabas and Iron Mountain offer this service to the public,” he said.
