Nearby: Photo Shop Coming Back to Shoppes at Northway

The new store is expected to open in early May.

A new photo shop is moving into the Shoppes at Northway.

Premier Imaging plans to open at the location of the old Ritz Camera shop sometime in early May.

Ritz moved out in September of 2012, after its corporate parent sold the stores to a liquidator. In November, three former Ritz managers reopened the Ritz location in Monroeville Mall as Premier Imaging.

"We won't be selling as much new camera merchandise as Ritz did," said John Kendelhardt, a Premier Imaging employee who worked for the Ritz Northway store.

According to its web site, the new store will offer:

Kendelhardt said it's too early to tell what will happen when the mall undergoes its planned redevelopment.

"We understand that won't be happening for more than a year at least," he said. "We'll just have to wait and see what happens."
