Landau Building Co. Completes 7,000-Square-Foot WVU Hospital Addition

Landau Building Co. of Wexford has contracted and completed a number of projects recently.

One such project is the one-story, 7,000-square-foot hospital addition at West Virginia University Hospitals Chestnut Ridge. Landau also has begun interior renovations at the facility. That 11,000-square-foot project is expected to be completed by September.

Phase I of the WVU Hospitals LINAC (Linear Accelerator) project in the Radiation Oncology Department was completed in December 2011 by Landau. Phase II of this 6,000-square-foot, one-story renovation began in January 2012. Construction is expected to take five months.

Landau has been contracted by Robert Morris University to construct its new media arts building, The Wayne Center. The new facility will be a combination of two existing buildings tied into a new three-story structure.

The Wayne Center will be about 37,000 square feet and will include media art workshops (print labs, metal and wood shops, photo labs, etc.) on the first floor and faculty offices on the second and third floors. The projected completion date is August.

Landau completed a new operating room and PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) Renovation at UPMC Shadyside. The project included a new clinical engineering laboratory and a new operating room with special functions for a da Vinci surgical robot. The architect was Radelet McCarthy Polletta.

Marks-Landau Construction, a wholly owned subsidiary of Landau Building Co., completed construction of the MedExpress facilities in Martinsburg, WV, and Fairmont, WV.
