Five Places Open on New Year's Day

New Year's Day usually means sleeping in, college football, and starting on those pesky resolutions.

But it's also a day off for most people, and most businesses are closed. 

Fortunately, there are a few people who are hard at work, to make life a little easier for the rest of us. 

It's not easy to find businesses open on New Year's Day, but we did manage to track down five:

Can the people at Sheetz be any nicer? For years, they've been offering free coffee to their customers starting at 4pm on New Year's Eve and all day on New Year's Day as a way to thank them for their patronage and brighten their holiday. No, Sheetz, thank you! Open 24 hours, 365 days a year.

2. GetGo/WetGo

4099 Grandview Drive, Gibsonia. 724-443-3011

GetGo in Richland Township is a good place to hide out and have a snack, and they're open 24 hours on New Year's Day, so any time works for them. They even have free WiFi if you want to compare notes with your friends about your New Year's Eve celebrations.

Don't feel like cooking after a big night of celebrating? China Palace is open from 3 p.m. to 8:45pm on New Year's Day, we recommend the Pork Osso Bucco. Really, it's amazing.

If you need some pain relief medicine or other recovery concoctions, you can probably find it here. Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year's Day.

5. Minute Clinic

Inside  pharmacy, 11240 Perry Hwy, Wexford. 

If you begin the New Year with a sore throat, headache, or other ailment simply remember that the Minute Clinic will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
