Bites Nearby: Grande Pizza Pleases With Tasty Choices, Casual Style

Friendly staff delivers authentic, family-friendly Italian food at reasonable prices.

Overview: is an authentic Italian “ristorante” located in Richland Township on Route 8. Pizza and Italian dishes are the focal point at this little family restaurant.

Decor: Simple, clean diner style would be how one describes Grande’s appearance. It is small but not cramped, and it is family friendly. I’m not a TV person, so I am not crazy about the TV that hangs in one corner of the ristorante, but the sound is so low, it is easy to ignore.

The drinks: Grande does not have a liquor license. It serves Coke products, hot tea, coffee, iced tea and milk.

Appetizers: If you don’t order the garlic knots, you are missing one of the most delicious foods that you will ever taste. You may order any of the items to share, and Grande also offers garlic bread with or without cheese, French fries, onion rings and a few other choices.

Entrees: The pizzas are unbeatable. It seems like we always order the Grande Special -- or if my brother is in town, a vegetarian pizza -- but I also love the white pizza with anchovies (yes, I like anchovies and so do my kids!). On our latest visit, my husband loved the hot sausage casserole. My mother ordered the Eggplant Parmesan dinner and took leftovers home for lunch the next day. She raved about the dish, one that she loves to order and critique at various places. She bestowed an outstanding rating on this one. The Italian antipasto salad is huge and one of my favorites. My 16-year-old ordered his own 8-cut pizza to enjoy, and he did just that.
