BRGR – I’d like to buy a vowel!

Craft beer at Cranberry's new Burger joint.

There are a few great places to go in Cranberry Township for good craft beer, and we have been blessed with another great locale by the name of BRGR.

While they have a great atmosphere and great burgers, I want to focus mainly on the beer. Boasting 20 beers on tap, and with current 19 bottle selections, BRGR has already put themselves on the map for a craft beer destination in Cranberry Township.

While they do serve your basic Miller Lite, New Castle, and Guiness, they also provide selections from a wide array of craft breweries from across the United States. These include offerings from Founders, Dark Horse, Bells, Ommegang and Victory Brewing Company to name a few.

What really shines for me is the selection of local beers on hand. With 20 taps total, three of these are in our own backyard. There is nothing I respect more than a local business supporting other local businesses, especially craft breweries.

Currently included in this line up is East End Brewing Company’s Big Hop IPA, a well balanced American IPA made with Centennial and Cascade hop varieties. Alongside this amazing IPA sits another local brew from the Church Brew Works, their Pious Monk Dunkel. This beer is a Munich style Dunkel lager that is smooth and complex without being too heavy or overbearing. Lastly the third featured local brewery is Full Pint Brewing Company’s White Lightening, a great summer Wit spiced with sweet orange peel, coriander and grains of paradise.

For those of us craft beer fans that are too far north to visit these breweries often, it is refreshing to see such local craft beer support in places such as this. BRGR is a great place to relax with friends and family while enjoying great food and craft beer. In addition, they also feature spiked shakes aka “adult floats,” which you can read more about in the restaurant review written by Kathleen Sauers.

In closing, I would like to thank BRGR and everyone else in our community for supporting the craft beer movement as it continues to grow and evolve into something far greater than we can ever imagine.

Huge fan of an expanded beer selection, glad to have it in the area. Really wish the food was more impressive. The beef is better than average, but not close to what my expectations were. Terrible choice for the bun, it is way too big and causes everything else to seem lost. More beef or less bun and you will be good to go BRGR

The place looks great but their beer menu could use a little correcting. It kills me when a place claiming to be a beer bar get the beer styles wrong. To have an "ale" and "lager" category is so vague for a true beer person (they have to lump a few different styles in those categories). On top of that they list stout (an ale), kolsch (true spelling and it's a hybrid), pilsner (a lager), rye (an ale), fruit beer (an ale) as styles outside of the lager/ale category. That's a big pet peeve of a true beer person. This place looks like it was put together by some rich yuppie who knows nothing about beer. I'll check it out regardless

Burgers were WAY overpriced...won't be going back. Spiked shakes & floats?? AA will suddenly see more members at this rate, not to mention more business for hospitals...LOL Waitress kept trying to talk us into one too!!
