Video Gives Sneak Peek at Jackie Evancho's New CD

'Songs From the Silver Screen' will be released Oct. 2.

Jackie Evancho stands behind an old-fashioned movie projector as it whirs its old-timey sound, setting the mood for a video promoting her latest CD, Sounds From the Silver Screen.

The 12-year-old's album, to be released Oct. 2, includes songs from legendary movies like Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Tangled, Titanic and South Pacific.

"The concept of this album is movie-themed songs," said Jackie, who is from the Pine-Richland community. "I did help select the songs and I’m really happy to sing them."

The video includes clips of Jackie from her concert, Jackie Evancho: Music of the Movies, as well as interviews with her and producer/engineer Humberto Gatica and behind-the-scenes footage.

"I am very happy to collaborate with Jackie Evancho," Gatica said. "I think her voice is so pure and beautiful and special."

Jackie introduces her brother, who performed with her in the Great Performances concert.

"My name is Jacob Evancho and I’m Jackie’s brother," he said on the video. "I’m doing a duet with Jackie. The song is 'I See The Light' from Tangled."

Songs From the Silver Screen is the fourth CD from the classical crossover prodigy —she also released two full-length CDs, Dream With Me and Heavenly Christmas, as well as a shorter "EP," O Holy Night.

A concert DVD, Jackie Evancho: Dream With Me In Concert, showcases Jackie in her first Great Performances concert that was aired on PBS.
