Kean Theatre Announces 2012 Lineup of Music, Plays and Dinner Theater

Theater on St. Barnabas campus celebrates its 10th anniversary season.

is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a season of award-winning plays and musicals, concerts and interactive dinner theater shows.

Located in The Washington Place at , the Kean Theatre is offering theater-goers the opportunity to enjoy a dinner onsite in the Mount Vernon Restaurant before each show. The Washington Place is located at 5847 Meridian Road in Gibsonia,Richland Township.

Proceeds benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund, which provides more than $4.7 million in free care to patients each year at Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and .

Terror at the Tailgate Party

This "terror-ific" tailgate party comes complete with a giant screen showing season highlights and past glories of Pittsburgh football, tailgate fare and even a trivia contest.

When someone goes missing, the audience will have the opportunity to test its detective skills and solve the case for prizes while laughing at the cast. 

Terror at the Tailgate Party is written and directed by Tom Madden, the managing director of the Kean Theatre. Madden, who has more than 25 years of experience in front of and behind the curtain, has created, written and directed all 16 installments in the Kean’s Murder Most Fowl mystery dinner theater series. 

Performing in Terror at the Tailgate Party will be many of the Kean Theatre’s regular actors—Michelle LeWay of Edgewood, John Patalano of McKees Rocks, Annette Quinn of Cranberry Township, Mike Regan of Hampton Township, Kristen Scannell of Franklin Park and Pat Shiner of Monroeville.

  • Dates: Friday, Jan. 20 and Saturday, Jan. 21
  • Price: $34 for 7 p.m. show and buffet dinner at Mount Vernon Restaurant at St. Barnabas.

 

Social Security

 This play in the Broadway Series is a comedy about the life of a married couple whose tranquility is shattered by Mom.  

  • Dates: Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10-11; and Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17-18
  • Prices: $23 for 8 p.m. show only; $45 for package that includes 6 p.m. dinner at Mount Vernon Restaurant at St. Barnabas.
  • Matinee Dates: Feb. 12 and 19 (Sundays)
  • Prices: $21 for 2 p.m. matinee only; $43 for package that includes 12:30 p.m. lunch at Mount Vernon Restaurant at St. Barnabas.

 

Beatlemania Magic

The Fab Four reunite when this national touring Beatles tribute band recreates the magic of the Beatles concerts with identical costumes, equipment and spot-on harmonies.

5th Anniversary Party Mystery Dinner Theater

 The Kean’s interactive mystery dinner theater is celebrating a milestone and everyone is invited to join in the festivities during the latest in a series of the Kean Theatre’s spin on the popular interactive mystery genre. Seating is limited.

  • Date: Saturday, March 31
  • Price: $34 for 7 p.m. performance that includes dinner at Mount Vernon Restaurant at St. Barnabas.

 

The 39 Steps

 This play in the Broadway Series mixes a classic and juicy Hitchcock spy film with a dash of Monty Python for a fast-paced whodunit.

  • Dates: Friday and Saturday, April 20-21; and Friday and Saturday, April 27-28

Hooray for Television

 This one-of-a-kind event features 17 actors playing 120 roles as they spoof dozens of the greatest television shows of all time.

Chris Higbee (Summer of Fun Series)

 This fiddle-playing country singer/songwriter brings his high-energy performance to the Kean.

Johnny Angel and the Halos

Pure Gold

 Featuring four-part harmonies, this well-known Pittsburgh act serves up a blend of blues, standards and original material to highlight each member’s unique talents. This performance is part of the Summer of Fun Series.

Born Yesterday

 This play in the Broadway Series is about a corrupt, rich junk dealer with his mistress in Washington, DC.

Nunsensations

 The nuns are back in this hilarious fourth installment of the Nunsense series that is part of the Kean's Broadway Series.

Rat Pack Christmas

 Entertainer Bo Wagner returns to the Kean with a holiday tribute to the Rat Pack.

Johnny Angel and the Halos Christmas
