Jackie to Sing in Philadelphia Next Month

The singing sensation from Richland Township will perform at the Mann Center August 25.

If you're looking for something to do next month, maybe a quick trip to Philadelphia is the answer.

Richland Township's own Jackie Evancho will bring her "Dream With Me" tour to Philadelphia  August 25.  The 12-year old soprano will perform with The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia at The Mann Center.

According to the Ticketmaster website, the "meet and greet" ticket packages are sold out, but other tickets are still available for the 8 pm Saturday night performance.

The Mann Center is located in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park and is a covered, outdoor performance venue.  The gates open at 6 pm for Jackie's concert.

I would follow her 'dream' anywhere -- if I could. Do sooooo wish i could be there. It will be a mixture of fantasy and memory and stardust sprinkled over your head if you can make it.

Yes, I heard Jackie in a concert: I drove my family 300 miles each way to see Jackie in Ravinia 8/7/11, drove 350 miles each way to see her write history at the Lincoln Center on 11/7/11, was able to see her at the Nokia Theater in LA on 2/24/12, and drove 650 miles each way to see her at NJPAC on 6/8/12, sitting in the 4th row - a trip to heaven hearing and seeing an angel sing. Quite frankly, there is something magical about her... I love operas but Jackie's ability clearly beyond her age and her graceful delivery and very modest and positive personality captured my heart. Just listening to her sing makes me feel good and relaxed. The fact that she had been criticized is a compliment because she is being compared to long time professionals. And she is truly capable of holding her own as her voice sounds better that the great singers she has sung with. The judges' comments during her AGT time said it all; comparing AGT now is striking as nobody comes even close to Jackie in respect of a true talent. Jackie, please remain true to yourself and follow your gut feeling in pursuing the genre that fits you so well rather than what people may advise you would attract more audience; also, if it feels better, don't hold the microphone so that you can use your hands, it is your signature and underlines your emotion in the presentation. You already have a large following that will grow. I am one of your followers forever; thank you so much for enriching our lives and the world... :)

I am looking forward with great anticipation to this concert. According to her father, Mike Evancho, the songs will be from her new album, Songs From the Silver Screen. I saw her perform these songs in LA at the Orpheum in June when she taped her PBS Great Performances special (due to start airing TODAY!) and I can tell you that Jackie, once again, brings an unique interpretation that will leave you stunned!
