Jackie Evancho Tweets About Visit with Japan's Imperial Family

The 11-year-old soprano is scheduled to present two concerts in Tokyo.

Singer Jackie Evancho of Richland Township has taken to Twitter again to let her fans know about her visit with Japan's royal family.

"Our visit with the imperial family was an incredible experience and a resounding success. So nice to have their support," she tweeted.

She also announced her invitation to sing for them through Twitter:

"Got invite to sing for emperor and empress, prince and princess and royal family in Japan. Tremendous honor. So excited," she tweeted Wednesday.

She sang "All I Ask Of You" from Phantom of the Opera and Puccini’s "O Mio Babbino Caro," according to a post from her mother, Lisa, on a fan forum on Amazon.com.

The 11-year-old classical crossover singer will perform two concerts in Tokyo — with the Yomiuri Nippon Philharmonic Orchestra on Wednesday and with the Tokyo Philharmonic on Friday.

Cindy, I agree with Fred Brown that Jackie should be named "Pricess of Pittsburgh" by proclamation from Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl. Truly she brings honors on the city that she always mentions and always says good things about. Joe Merkt Thompsons Station, TN (a PA native)

There are already prince and princes' in Pittsburgh. She needs something better, like ..... "The Angel of Pittsburgh".
