The two performed a selection of popular classical and crossover songs

Pine-Richland songstress Jackie Evancho recently shared the stage with legendary Spanish opera singer Jose Carreras in Taiwan.

The two performed the arena concert before an audience of 30,000 on April 20, singing a selection of popular classical and crossover songs, including a duet of Ave Maria (check out the video!).

A day earlier, Jackie and Carreras attended a press conference together to discuss the "Cross Generations" concert held in the Changhua County Stadium, Changhua, Taiwan.

Carreras, known for his performances in the operas of Verdi and Puccini, said he knew of Jackie because of her success over the past few years and was happy when he heard about the possibility of working with her.

During the interview, Carreras said Jackie has "a beautiful sound, which is not the sound of a girl."

"I think for an artist of my age, it is wonderful always to sing with a new generation of singers, in this case with a very, very young generation of singers," Carreras said.

Jackie graciously thanked Carreras for inviting her to sing. It was her first time in Taiwan and their first performance together.

Days later, Jackie tweeted: "Back in the US now. How amazing to sing with Jose Carreras and for so many new fans! Thanks for the welcome Taiwan ♡"
