Jackie Evancho to Appear on 'The View' and 'Fox & Friends'

The 12-year-old is promoting her latest CD, 'Songs From the Silver Screen'.

Jackie Evancho will appear Friday on The View and Fox & Friends as she makes the TV rounds to promote her new Songs From the Silver Screen CD.

The View airs at 11 a.m. ET and Fox & Friends at 6 a.m. ET.

The classical crossover soprano sang "Music of the Night" when she appeared Tuesday on NBC's Today show.

“It’s from my favorite movie, Phantom of the Opera, which is also the movie that inspired me to start singing,” Jackie told interviewer David Gregory.

Songs From the Silver Screen is her third full-length CD—following Dream With Me and Heavenly Christmas.

Soon after Jackie's meteoric rise to fame on America's Got Talent, she released a four-song EP titled O Holy Night.

"This is pretty amazing, no?" Gregory asked the 12-year-old from Pine-Richland.

“It’s very amazing … when I first began singing, I loved it. Knowing that I can continue and keep making CDs is just super exciting for me," Jackie answered.

"Is this something you want to keep doing for the rest of your life?"

"Definitely," Jackie answered. "This is something I think will be my ultimate passion forever."

Ever wish for a more normal 12-year-old childhood than what you’re embarking on? Gregory asked.

"Not really.  I mean, every once in a while, just because I’m at home and I’m having so much fun," Jackie replied. "Whenever I get back on stage ... all of that goes away and I just love it so much."

Asked about a favorite city as she tours the world, Jackie answered: Tokyo.

"I love Tokyo, Japan. It’s my favorite place to go. And I love the people there; they are so nice. It’s great."

Noting Jackie appears in a new Robert Redford movie,  Gregory asked her if she liked acting better than singing.

"No," she said emphatically. "I like acting, but singing is going to be my main thing for a long time."

Locally, the Songs From the Silver Screen CD is on sale at Target and Wal-mart. Target offers an exclusive CD/DVD package for $14; the CD alone is $10. Walmart sells the CD for $11.88.

Cindy, Her interview on Today was great. Thanks for posting this article. SHe is becoming so poised. I am impressed. Of course her performance of Music of the Night was gorgeous. Her strides in her vocal technique and in her artistry are astonishing. I've followed her closely since June of last year. I am amazed ... and expect to continue to be amazed in the coming year! She's growing up. The earlier years showed her sitting up in the chair or stool as a little girl with her feet off of the floor about 6-10 inches. Now she sits up like the young person she is; always gracious and sweet. Will there be a time when she will stop kicking up her leg when she is talking to someone or fidgeting with her dress or giving a twirl when she is on stage? I'm sure there will be but the memories she has given us, -- Wow!! They cannot be replaced. -- I'm just a crazy smitten fan - what can I say. Looking at you Jackie from the cheap seats. Thanks Cindy.

I'm always amazed at her poise; she is so well spoken for a 12-year-old. And her singing voice keeps getting more beautiful. It is a joy to know such a treasure comes from the Pine-Richland area.
