Extras Needed For New Batman Movie

Casting directors are looking for 'extras to play as victims and perpetrators within a city besieged by crime and corruption.'

If you missed out on your chance to be an extra in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, you may want to try out again for another movie being filmed in Pittsburgh, The Dark Knight Rises.

The new Batman film entered into production under the production title Magnus Rex. SWD Casting is in charge of finding extras for the movie.

The casting call announcement said, "A Warner Bros. film requires extras to play as victims and perpetrators within a city besieged by crime and corruption. Take part in the urban action adventure ripping through the streets of Pittsburgh from July 28 through Aug. 21."

Casting dates will take place in the Omni William Penn Hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh on the following dates:

Sat. June 11 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Sun. June 12 - 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Sat. June 18 - 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Sun. June 19 - 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Casting directors are looking for men and women of all ethnicities ages 18 and older. They said no experience is necessary. Specific roles they are looking to fill  include prisoners or thugs, guards, police officers, businessmen and women, and sports fans. 

The film will feature Christian BaleMorgan Freeman and Anne Hathaway. It is scheduled for release on July 20, 2012.

According to the Pittsburgh Film Office, more than 100 motion pictures and television productions have used Pittsburgh as a location. Click here to see the list.
