The Camping Association of the Presbyteries of Northwestern Pennsylvania (CAPNWP) is hosting “Highlands Rocks”, a Christian music festival, at Westminster Highlands, Emlenton, PA, Saturday, Aug. 4 and Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012.

The festival will feature Christian bands, speakers, food and craft vendors, swimming, guided hiking tours and a 40-foot high zipline.

“‘Highlands Rocks’ is a chance for us to share God’s love with a wider audience,” said Kate Hurne, Summer Resident Director of Westminster Highlands. “The bands and speakers we have scheduled are very talented and are sure to wow the audience and bring them closer to God.”

Special guests include locally and nationally-known Christian bands, including ApologetiX, Anderson Grove, Athanasia, Circle of One, Crown, Erik Kerr, Jordan Biel and Rob Krough and the H2O Band. Guest speakers include former Super Bowl-winning Pittsburgh Steeler player Jon Kolb.

Westminster Highlands, founded in 1958, is partnered with Camp Lambec, on Lake Erie in North Springfield, PA  to form CAPNWP. Both camps offer week-long youth and family sessions, in addition to other programs throughout the year. The association’s motto is “To know Christ and to make Him known.”

“I have been attending Westminster Highlands since I was a little girl and now I am super excited to volunteer for ‘Highlands Rocks’,” said Elizabeth Dewar, volunteer. “This festival is a great opportunity for youth groups and families to worship God in a very fun way.”

Attendees may make overnight reservations for Saturday, Aug. 4. Housing options include rustic cabins, tenting and RV areas. Meal plans are also available. In addition to meal plans, food vendors will be on site.

Campers interested in jumping off the 40-foot zipline must be more than 10 years old. Those under 18 must have their parents sign a consent form.
