Card-Making Activity at Ross Park Mall Gives Children Way to Send Holiday Greetings to U.S. Troops

The American Red Cross will host a children’s holiday card-making event this Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at Ross Park Mall.

Children and their families will be able to create their own unique holiday cards, which will be distributed to members of the U.S. military, veterans and their families later this season, according to the Red Cross. It is teaming up with Pitney Bowes for the fifth year to collect, screen, sort and deliver holiday cards to American soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, their families and veterans across the nation and overseas as part of the Holiday Mail for Heroes Program.

This program encourages all Americans to create personalized cards and holiday mail to send and be distributed to members of the United States military and veterans. 

“Holiday Mail for Heroes presents a great opportunity for Americans to show their support for our troops,” said Patricia Waldinger, CEO of the American Red Cross Southwestern Pennsylvania Region. “Receiving a little token from home can mean so much to a member of the Armed Forces during the holiday season.”

Anyone who is unable to attend the event and would still like to participate by sending holiday mail can sign and drop off a card at Ross Park Mall or send cards to Holiday Mail For Heroes, P.O. Box 5456, Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456.
