Miller, who also serves on the Richland Board of Supervisors along with John Marshall, said the meet-and-greet dinner is community oriented and educational. It gives the public a chance to have contact with elected officials and candidates, he added.

The idea of having the meet-and-greet stemmed from a Richland Republican Committee meeting—when discussing how to dialogue and exchange ideas, Miller said.

"As a group, we are like-minded in a number of areas," he said, and primarily that means the concept of freedom and the notion that with freedom comes responsibility at all levels of society.

The committee also believes government has been irresponsible and is getting way out of its charter.

"We are way off course," Miller said. "Children can't vote and we've placed a tremendous amount of debt on their shoulders."

These are some of the topics that might come up at Thursday's dinner.

The event is meant to be upbeat with a political flare; the featured guests will speak and take questions, Miller said.

To reserve a spot at the dinner, send a $25 check to Bart Miller, 1028 Applejack Drive, Gibsonia, Pa 15044.
