Where to Watch Fourth of July Fireworks

Look to the skies around Pine and Richland townships.

If you are looking to set up a lawn chair somewhere in Pine or Richland townships to watch fireworks this weekend, well ... neither township is offering a display.

There are plenty of displays close by, however. Here are the places where you can take in beautiful displays in the skies around the Pine-Richland communities on Sunday and Monday:

8:15 p.m. Sunday: Hartwood Acres Concert with Musical Fireworks

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert at 8:15 p.m. at the Hartwood Acres Concert Stage, Middle Road, Allison Park.

"Bring your picnic dinner and relax this Independence Day eve at a free Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra concert filled with musical fireworks at breathtaking Hartwood Acres!" the orchestra's website says. "PSO Associate Principal Violist Tatjana Mead Chamis will mesmerize with a transcription of Elgar's Cello Concerto, and the evening will conclude with a bang, as Assistant Conductor Thomas Hong leads your Orchestra in Dvorak's Symphony No. 8!"

9:30 p.m. Sunday: Ross Township Fireworks by Pyrotechnico

Ross Township fireworks will be launched from the property of the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center on Cemetery Lane. Ross residents say the best spots to view the show are from the hill at the Ross Township Community Center or the parking lot at 235 Cemetery Lane, home to the Ross Township Fire Police and its public works facility.

9:30 p.m. Sunday: Hampton Township Celebration and Fireworks

Sunday's activities at Hampton Township Park, 2301 McCully Road, in Allison Park, include a free swim, all ages, at the outdoor pool starting at 2 p.m., games, hayride and food and activity booths from 6 p.m. to dusk and a free oldies concert by The MaGuires from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. followed by "low-level" fireworks at the soccer fields.

9:30 p.m. Monday: Hampton Township Celebration and Fireworks

Monday's activities at Hampton Township Park, 2301 McCully Road, in Allison Park, include a 5K run/walk starting at 7:30 a.m., food, activity booths, petting zoo and foul-shooting contest from 1 to 4 p.m., an 18th-century artillery live fire demonstration at 2 p.m., a concert featuring The Clarks from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. followed by a fireworks show by Pyrotecnico.

9:35 p.m. Monday: City of Pittsburgh fireworks show

Featured during the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta, the EQT “Flashes of Freedom” Fireworks Fantasia will be a 25-minute display produced by Pyrotecnico.
