The Reindeer is Back for Holiday Dazzle ... And So Are A Ton of Activities

The third annual Holiday Dazzle will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Pine Community Center.

Santa Claus is coming to town and so is a reindeer.

They are making special appearances at Holiday Dazzle, a family-oriented event at Pine Community Center from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The cost at the door is $5 per person.

Santa will arrive via fire truck with "elves" from the Wexford Volunteer Fire Company. If the weather cooperates, he will wend his way to The Gazebo behind the community center, where he will greet girls and boys and hear their holiday wishes. Otherwise, look for the Jolly Old Elf inside the center if the weather is yucky.

Bring your camera—Santa is very photogenic in that bright red suit.

Also outside you will find a reindeer, an ice carver and horse-and-carriage rides. Hungry for s'mores? Look for the bonfire.

Performances by local entertainers will be featured in the community center's ballroom; children will work on crafts in the gymnasium where a large gingerbread house will be set up for little artists to decorate.

A hat parade and a holiday movie also are on tap during the holiday event.

Booths will be set up for you to buy yummy food.

Holiday trees line the main hallway of the community center and they need your votes. Buy tickets ($1 a piece) at the community center's desk and then drop them in the cans by the trees to register your vote for your favorite tree.

(We're rooting for Pine-Richland Patch's tree. Proceeds go to local charities.)

Holiday Dazzle would not be complete without the lighting of the official Dazzle tree; that will take place near the front entrance to Pine Community Center.

The evening will end with a holiday fireworks show by Pyrotecnico to the sound of holiday music.

New this year: Buses will run continually to shuttle people from parking areas in Pine Community Park to the community center.
