As a busy teen actor, Alexander quickly lost sight of how to eat healthy. He soon became overweight as a result.
Feeling lethargic and sluggish, he decided to overhaul his diet, and his life. He also discovered a new passion—cooking.
But, after scouring every resource available, Alexander found it difficult to find healthy recipes featuring strategies that applied to someone his age.
He then turned his kitchen into a “science lab,” testing and developing nutritious versions of the unhealthy foods he loved.
Along the way, he became a dedicated cook and began sharing his culinary discoveries with his fans and friends on his site, KewlBites.com.
Within months, the site’s popularity soared.
Today, Alexander is an ambassador for Clinton’s Alliance of a Healthier Generation and a special collaborator for First Lady Michelle Obama’s White House healthy eating initiative, Let’s Move!
Alexander is now bringing his favorite 100 slimmed-down, kid-tested, parent-approved recipes to the masses with his first cookbook, Kewl Bites: 100 Nutritious, Delicious, Family-Friendly Dishes. The cookbook went on sale Sept. 3
As part of his appearances at the Market District locations, Alexander will cook using fresh, wholesome ingredients as well as share his smart strategies for cutting back on unhealthy elements, without sacrificing flavor.
