St. Barnabas Retirees To Celebrate “The Big Easy”

Mardi Gras Cocktail Parties for residents set for July 10 and 12.

 

On Tuesday, July 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Village at St. Barnabas Mall, Gibsonia, will be transformed into “The Big Easy” as men and women celebrate retirement with a Mardi Gras-themed cocktail party. Residents, wearing beads and masks will enjoy Creole entertainment, libations, food and fun.

A second Mardi Gras cocktail party will be held Thursday, July 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at The Crystal Conservatories, Valencia for The Woodlands at St. Barnabas residents.

  • Specialty cocktails served by celebrity bartenders: Johnny Angel of Johnny Angel & The Halos and Rick Bergman of KDKA Radio
  • Mardi Gras parade complete with residents wearing purple, green and gold – the traditional Mardi Gras colors.
  • New Orleans-inspired hors d’oeuvres and specialty drinks including spicy catfish bites, Cajun popcorn shrimp, Hurricanes, beignets and pecan pie.

St. Barnabas Health System is the largest health care concern of its kind in Pennsylvania and offers service apart from the ordinary in a faith-based, non-denominational setting. Tracing its heritage back to 1900, the system serves approximately 900 inpatients and residents, plus 35,000 outpatients and home care clients.

The health system is composed of the St. Barnabas Communities, a continuing care retirement community including The Village at St. Barnabas, The Washington Place at St. Barnabas, The Woodlands at St. Barnabas and White Tail Ridge; St. Barnabas Clinical Services, including St. Barnabas Nursing Home, St. Barnabas Medical Center, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas; and St. Barnabas Charities, the fund-raising arm, which includes the Kean Theatre and Rudolph Auto Repair.
