Route 8 Traffic May Slow Because of PennDOT Work to Install Pavement Markers

Expect lane closures and restrictions.

Expect slow going on Route 8 this week as PennDOT installs road markers on the busy road from Route 910 to Saxonburg Boulevard.

PennDOT announced the planned work when it released its weekly maintenance schedule for Monday through Friday, Dec. 17-21. All activities are weather permitting.

Expect lane closures and restrictions in the work areas.

PennDOT plans to install delineators, which are a series of retroreflective devices mounted on the road surface or at the side of the road to indicate the alignment of the road.

The delineators make it easier for motorists to see road markings, especially at night or in bad weather.

PennDOT encourages motorists to call 1-800 FIX ROAD to report road concerns on state routes and interstates. Litter and debris removal and pothole patching will occur in various areas as needed.
